If you’re looking for healthy, hand-raised Silkie chicks in Eastern North Carolina, you’re in the right place. We currently have several groups of chicks available here at The Hen Den of Oriental, raised with daily care and clean, safe housing.
We have multiple age groups to choose from:
White Silkie Chicks – approximately 6 weeks old (1½ months)
Black Silkie Chicks – approximately 6 weeks old
Silkie Chicks – 3 weeks old
New Silkie Chicks – about 5 days old
These babies are fluffy, gentle, and perfect for families, small farms, or anyone wanting to start a backyard flock with a calm, friendly breed.
We have another batch expected to hatch on December 12th, so if you don’t see the age or color you want, more chicks are on the way soon.
All chicks are sold for local pickup at our farm in Oriental, NC.
We serve Pamlico County and nearby coastal areas.
Silkies are straight run, meaning they cannot be sexed at this age.

Caring for Your New Chicks
New chicks need steady warmth and comfort — keep them under a heat lamp until they’re fully feathered.
Make sure their brooder stays dry, draft-free, and stocked with clean water and chick starter feed.
If you’re new to raising chicks, we’re happy to help you get started — just ask when you join the wait list.
